Time to rejuvenate your skin. If you’re anything like me, your skin has a tendency to get all freaked out by changes in the seasons, whether it’s heat related or humidity, atmospheric pressure or changes in the alignment of the stars…my skin just enjoys throwing a tantrum.
I’m by no means an expert, but I thought I’d take a minute to share with you some of the helpful little tips I’ve picked up to try and make my skin acclimatise to changes in the seasons…
The cold air of winter has a terrible habit of drawing all moisture from my skin (and my hair on the worst days) so change up your focus to be on moisturising and hydrating products. Extra tip – I also use extra conditioner when I wash my hair in winter to try and avoid the static! I feel like I’ve tried every other trick in the book but none have worked as well as this.
Just in the same way you spring clean your home, treat your skin to deep pore cleansing and exfoliating products to rejuvenate the skin from the winter dryness.
Over the summer months you should look to protect your skin from the sun with sunscreen and antioxidants which have powerful protective qualities. Products should be lighter-weight in the spring and summer since there is more humidity in the air.
Increase your exfoliation frequency to remove dead and damaged skin cells and repair your skin from the summer sun damage. You want to do this to prepare for the harshness of winter.
